Why Unresolved Did Not Mean Extraterrestrial

The most important misunderstanding surrounding the 701 cases is the assumption that “unidentified” means “alien”. Neither Project Blue Book nor the Air Force treated the term that way.

From a scientific perspective, this distinction is straightforward. A failure to identify a cause does not automatically validate any alternative explanation. Investigators may be left with multiple possibilities, none of which can be confirmed.
